Thankfully, fixing paint streaks on walls isn’t very hard, it just takes a little while. Getting rid of them will help your home look much better.
In this post, you can find out how to fix 3 different types of paint streaks on walls.
Raised edge roller marks are where the edges of the roller are leaving little raised lines of paint behind, almost like boundary lines. This happens when the roller is full of paint and someone presses it too firmly against the wall.
To fix this, all anyone needs to do is lightly sand down the raised edges. The best sandpaper grit to use is 120 to 150 grit.
It needs to be done carefully! Sanding too far down will hurt the other paint on the wall. It’ll need touching up if this happens. It’s best to wipe off the dust from sanding before repainting.
Sometimes the paint on the roller starts running out before anyone notices. This shows up as a lighter coat, resulting in uneven paint streaks on your walls.
All anyone needs to do is wait for it to completely dry and then apply another coat of paint. If it isn’t fully dry it can still look uneven after repainting.
A brush can leave marks behind if someone doesn’t use it right. You can see raised edges, brush marks, or both.
If the edges are raised anyone can just follow the same steps as with the raised edge roller marks. Sand off the raised parts and touch them up as necessary.
For uneven brush marks, all anyone needs to do is apply another coat of paint until they can’t see them anymore. They just need to avoid painting between the same lines so the edges don’t become more noticeable.
