We get asked all the time, “When should I paint? What kind of weather is okay to paint?” In short, it needs to be at least 35 degrees so the paint doesn’t freeze. On the contrary, we don’t want to paint on a surface that exceeds 150 degrees, since it will bake the paint on. If we’re not sure if it will be okay, we’ve got a temperature gun that gauges the surface temperature of your home.
Later in the year, we’ll be making sure the surface temperature is at least 45 degrees.
During spring and summer months, we work ahead of the sun. We’ll start early in the morning before it gets too hot, and finish before the sun sets. In the winter time, we’ll start on the coldest side first, to give it more time to dry.
Conditions here are pretty perfect, and we can almost paint year-round. All we need is dry weather, which we’ve got in abundance! If you’ve got questions about repainting the exterior of your home, give us a call! We’d love to answer any questions you’ve got!
