⏩ Can I Paint Behind Garage Door Weather Strips?
When you’re overhauling the exterior paint of your home, your garage is most likely going to be repainted, too.
All garage doors have a weather strip seal bordering the door, and are often cream colored.
Many people ask me, “Can you paint behind my garage door weather strip?” in an effort to avoid having a white strip around the garage door.
In short: no. Don’t paint the weather strips.
When using top quality, 100% acrylic paints, they contain an ingredient called plasticizers. They’re designed to remain flexible throughout their life span.
Your garage door weather strip has the exact same ingredients, creating an attraction to each other. Essentially, they want to stick to each other.
The last thing you want is to have your garage door stuck because the weather strip and garage door are gluing together.
Pinon Painting Services...
Your company painted our exterior last year and did such a good job we didn’t consider any other company when we decided to paint inside.
As a real estate agent I see (and hear) a lot on interior and exterior painting projects. Pinon Painting exceeded my expectations of their work from beginning to end. The crew was friendly, courteous and easy to have on my property for a number of days. I will definitely recommend them to my clients and others. I will use them again for future painting projects. The compliments keep coming in from the neighbors and others!
Good to see workers, work, and not spend time on cell phone as you often see these days. Excellent crew.
Just wanted to put in a good word for the Pinon Painting work force. They provided excellent service in the painting of our home. An outstanding job by a group of men who were efficient, courteous, and accommodating in working around homeowners, our guests, and all of our needs. I recommend them highly for continued service to our community.
