⏩ Can I Paint Behind Garage Door Weather Strips?
When you’re overhauling the exterior paint of your home, your garage is most likely going to be repainted, too.
All garage doors have a weather strip seal bordering the door, and are often cream colored.
Many people ask me, “Can you paint behind my garage door weather strip?” in an effort to avoid having a white strip around the garage door.
In short: no. Don’t paint the weather strips.
When using top quality, 100% acrylic paints, they contain an ingredient called plasticizers. They’re designed to remain flexible throughout their life span.
Your garage door weather strip has the exact same ingredients, creating an attraction to each other. Essentially, they want to stick to each other.
The last thing you want is to have your garage door stuck because the weather strip and garage door are gluing together.
Pinon Painting Services...
Very professional, first class operation.
This is the second time we used Pinon and both times the finished work was excellent. You did what you said you would do (quality work). Your crew was very efficient and easy to communicate with.
Both Mike and Bill were very easy and pleasant to have here. I feel they did an excellent job.
The team did an excellent job with our home. The finished look is better than I thought it would be. Thank you.
Just wanted to put in a good word for the Pinon Painting work force. They provided excellent service in the painting of our home. An outstanding job by a group of men who were efficient, courteous, and accommodating in working around homeowners, our guests, and all of our needs. I recommend them highly for continued service to our community.
